Disabled children in Ghana get a really raw deal. Their families often do no have the means to support them and they land up in orphanages. There, they are used and abused to get people to donate money, which goes straight to the pockets of the owners. The children do not benefit from this at all, on the contrary: their disabilities incite pity and thus donations, so their handicaps are often not treated or improved.

Mandie Case has a dream: to help these disabled children, give them a place to learn and grow, help their families and keep those families together. This dream is being realised in Grace House, an Africa Youth Rising project.

Grace House is a daycare center for children with disablities. They get a good meal, they receive the kinds of therapy they need, they get classes, and in the evening they go back to their families.

It is an amazing project and I was so touched by this that I wanted to share it on my website. Joanne Quincey (Zenjo) has organised an event to raise money for Grace House, a tangle event with 6 wonderful classes.

Every cent or penny you donate goes straight to Grace House.
